Lancelot
Gorgeous, powerful, protective and illusive… Lancelot is all of these things and so much more. There isn’t another stallion in the herd that takes care of their family quite like Lancelot does. He has collected and held onto his mares and keeps them out of the public eye more than most other bands. Constantly moving, and oftentimes to places away from the rest of the herd, Lancelot is always mindful of where he is and what the threats are.
Lancelot's contribution is remarkable in that several of his offspring are remarkably unusual in color and markings. He has given the herd “Casper” and “Gypsy” and both are very unique in coloring, eyes and facial markings. It is fairly easy to tell that these two are related and although different in coloring, they have his undeniable influence. As a band stallion, Lancelot continues to teach his offspring how to be smart, cautious and wary of humans. There is no other stallion in the herd that has done quite the job he has and as we watch his offspring grow into adulthood, the lessons stay with them, keeping them safe as well as rarely spotted.
When the rare opportunity affords a brief observation, Lancelot will watch you very closely. He has a very commanding and protective stance and communicates his intention with no possibility of miscommunication. This gorgeous boy always positions himself between humans and his band and there is no temptation to get closer. He demands respect and respect is a natural response.
If you are fortunate enough to catch a glimpse of this incredible boy, it will be a moment in time you will never forget. His eyes and his posturing will stay embedded in your memory always… and you will feel the essence of what a wild stallion truly is.
